A forty year old banker, has won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary Primaries in the Chiana-Paga Constituency to represent the party in the 2020 Parliamentary elections.

Mr Robert Aloo, pulled 440 votes out of the 631 total valid votes cast to beat his sole contender Fedelia Kudaariwo, who secured 191 votes at the end of polls.

Addressing the party delegates in Paga, after he was declared winner, Mr Robert Aloo, who refused to wear a white smock gifted him as sign of victory, called on his contender ,Fedelia and her supporters to come on board and support the party to win the general elections because his triumph is a victory for the New Patriotic Party.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage, who visited the Chiana-Paga constituency called on party members to celebrate in modesty because any aspirant who emerged victorious, definitely is a victory for the party and not the individual.

Speaking to Word news on the sideline of the primaries, Mr Aloo said the victory the party had in 2008 led by Leo Kaba will repeat itself come 2020 because the New Patriotic Party has very good strategies and above all ,the introduction of government’s flagship programs have given the party a good chance in the Chiana-Paga constituency.

According to him, the current Member of parliament (MP) Lawyer Rudolf Amenga-etego Nsohwine’s loss in the just ended Primaries is an indication to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their candidate, Thomas Alou that history will surely repeat itself.

Mr. Aloo added that most of the supporters of his contender have called to congratulate him whiles others have sent congratulatory messages.

He said his contender was yet to contact him, adding that he will call her at the right time to console and bring her on board for victory in election 2020.
