Bolgatanga Chieftaincy Dispute: Compound House Set Ablaze At Daporitindongo


A compound house has been burnt to ashes in Dapooretindongo a suburb of the Bolgatanga Municipality in the upper East region by unidentified persons.

Information gathered by Word FM indicates that, the incident happened at around 1:00am on Tuesday dawn. A tenant who spoke to Word FM, said the incident happened around, 1:00am. She said, the main entrance to the house was locked and three gas cylinders set on fire.

It took the effort of a police officer who is a tenant in the house to break part of a room which was used as  an exit for other tenants of the house.

The Ghana National Fire Service fought the fire for about three hours before it was brought under control.

 It is believed that the burning of the house is related to the chieftancy dispute in Bolgatanga between the two gates.The landlord of the house uncle’s one of the gates.

At the time of Word FM’s visit, residence were seen parking their belongings out of the vicinity.
