The Bongo District Assembly has announced it will commission streetlights planted along the Bolga- Bongo Road and within the Bongo Township before Christmas.
The DCE disclosed this during the Bongo District Meet the press forum. The DCE said the commissioning of the streetlights will be a Christmas present to the people of the district.
The Bongo District Assembly planted some metallic poles along the main Bolga-Bongo and Bongo township roads in their bid to lit the District which does not have a well-organized and functioning street lighting system.
The poles have however been left without bulbs for it to function as purposed. Some of the poles have also been knocked down by drivers who ply the Bongo roads.
Hon. Peter Ayinbisa while delivering his speech on the achievement of the NPP government in the Bongo District in the last three years, gave the assurance that he will turn Bongo into a Dubai before the end of the year.
“we are going to give a special gift to the people of Bongo. This streetlights we are going to commission it before Christmas. When you pass any street in Bongo in the night, you will think that you are roaming somewhere in Tachiman or Kintampo or any of the big cities.”
Hon. Ayimbisa said the opposition NDC wish the project would not come to light because they couldn’t do it while in power but the NPP government is bent on delivering the project.
The DCE said all rural electrification projects that were been executed before the coming to office of the NPP government will be continued and completed.
” WE came to meet some communities that work was in progress and we decided to continued with those communities, we have not abandoned any of those communities.”
The DCE also disclosed that about 47 virgin communities will be connected to the national grid.
