NDC Parliamentary Aspirant Interdicted by Local Gov’t Service for Contesting In Primaries

The Local Government Service has interdicted a member of the Builsa South District Assembly, Mr. Maazu Abubakar for allegedly breaching the Service’s code of conduct.

Mr. Maazu Abubakar contested in the just ended primaries of the National Democratic Congress held on 24th August,2019 in the Pru West Constituency of the Bono East region.

Mr. Maazu however failed in his bit to represent the NDC in the 2020 Parliamentary elections as he came up in the last position with 16 votes and lost to Mr Mohammed Masawudu who pulled 317 votes to win the primaries.

In a statement, the Office of the Head of Local Government Service said Abubakar’s  brached the neutrality clauses which are required of all staff of the service by participating in the primaries.  

Mr Maazu has been interdicted together with Alexander Hedidor, and Roland Abire both of the Kassena Nankana Municipal Assembly of the Upper East Rrgion

The service said it has initiated investigations into the matter.
